Every Doctor

The show came back in 2005 and has had six lead actors since, plus one the Doctor spent years refusing to count. Each of them gets a page here with every review of their era on it.

This is the modern run, newest first. If you are starting from nothing, start with Eccleston: thirteen episodes, one complete story, and the Bad Wolf thread runs straight through it.

1. Ncuti GatwaThe Fifteenth Doctor, 2023 onward. The bigeneration era.
2. Jodie WhittakerThe Thirteenth Doctor, 2018 to 2022, and the Timeless Child.
3. Peter CapaldiThe Twelfth Doctor, 2014 to 2017. Older, harder, and the best final speech in the show.
4. Matt SmithThe Eleventh Doctor, 2010 to 2013. Bow ties, Amy and Rory, and the crack in the wall.
5. David TennantThe Tenth Doctor, 2005 to 2010, and the Fourteenth in 2023. The one most people picture.
6. Christopher EcclestonThe Ninth Doctor, 2005. One series, leather jacket, and the show back from the dead.

And the one in between

1. The War DoctorThe Time War incarnation, slotted between Eccleston and the classic series. Six episodes, in their own thread.
